Our client had used a different local company in the past to upgrade their central heating timer to a Nest model and, since then, had been experiencing faults with their heating and hot water. In the middle of winter and with the baby on the way, reinstating their heating and hot water was a priority. Our client contacted our team to resolve the issue and install a secondary Nest to control the top-floor heating.
How We Helped:
We scheduled a visit to our client’s property, a semi-detached home in Newton Leys, to diagnose the issue and determine why the Nest was not working as it should be. Upon assessment, we found that the previous installer hadn’t wired the system up correctly, which meant our client had to turn the heating on from the receiver manually.
Before carrying out any tests or repairs, we spent time establishing every cable and wire. The wiring centre had been left in a messy state, the cables hadn’t been labelled, and multiple connectors had been used, so we needed to ensure we were 100% confident before disconnecting.
Clear on all wiring and cables, we were able to repair the original Nest and install a secondary system on the top floor of our client’s home, meaning they could now make full use of their Nest time.
